11 December, 2015: Islamic Economics Workshop, Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo, Surabaya

The workshop on Islamic Economics at UMSIDA (Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo) near Surabaya and MOU signing ceremony was held on December 11, 2015, with the resource persons Dato Wira Dr. Jamil Osman , Prof. Dr. Mustafa Omar and Prof. Dr. Norma Saad of KENMS IIUM. The Public Lecture and Workshop were officiated by the Rector of UMSIDA, Dr. Hidayatullah and attended by Deputy Rectors, Deans, the Director of Post Graduate studies and the lecturers from 6 (six) Faculties of Economics of Muhammadiyah Universities in East Java: UMSIDA Sidoarjo, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surabaya, UM Gresik, UM Malang, UM Jember, UM Ponorogo and Universitas Trunojoyo, Bangkalan, Madura.

Dato Wira Dr. Jamil Osman delivered a Public Lecture on “The Future of Islamic Economics, Challenges of Integration and Islamization, some Regional Experiences” and followed by the MOU signing between IIIT East and South East Asia and UMSIDA Sidoiarjo, signed by Dato Wira Dr. Jamil Osman and Dr. Hidayatullah, the Rector of UMSIDA.

Prof. Dr. Mustafa Omar delivered a talk on “Integration of Knowledge and Curriculum Reform of Islamic Economics in The Islamic Universities” and Prof. Dr. Normah Saad on "Teaching Islamic Economics at IIUM : Challenges of Integration of Knowledge". The workshops were facilitated by Dr. Wisnu, the Director of the Post Graduate Studies of Economics. Workshop, session 3 on the follow up of the "Regional cooperation an Network in the Curriculum Reform and Textbook Writing" attended by the representatives from UMSIDA Sidoarjo, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surabaya, UM Gresik, UM Malang, UM Jember, UM Ponorogo and Universitas Trunojoyo, Bangkalan, Madura.
