21 November, 2017: National Symposium on “Islamic Epistemology in the Modern Knowledge Perspective” organized by Universitas Al Azhar Indonesia (UAI), Jakarta

The National Symposium on “Islamic Epistemology in the Modern Knowledge Perspective” was held at the Auditorium of Universitas Al Azhar Indonesia (UAI), Jakarta, November 21, 2017. The symposium was officiated by the new Rector of UAI, Prof. Dr. Asep Saefuddin and attended by the chairman of the Al Azhar Foundation, Secretary and 200 participants from different universities from Jakarta, Bandung, Bogor, Yogyakarta and Malang East Java. The Rector expressed his great hope to continue the cooperation with IIIT in the integration of knowledge as a new and prestigious university. He also mentioned a plan to develop UAI as the center of the Islamic Epistemology and Integration of Knowledge which will be chaired by Prof. Dr. Nurhayati Djamas.

Bapak M. Habib Chirzin was invited to deliver the opening speech, where he shared the idea of integration of knowledge, based on the Islamic Epistemology, Islamic World view and the important of maqashid al shariah in the process of integration. Bapak Habib also briefed the audience on the IIIT new policy and programs and the need for strengthening the national, regional and international network.

The invited speakers in the symposium include:

1. Prof. Dr. Mat Rofa Ismail, a senior expert on mathematics and philosophy of science; as the Keynote Speaker.
2. Prof. Dato Dr. Ariff Osman, the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of IIUM.
3. Prof. Dr. Imam Suprayogo, former Rector UIN Malang, the initiator of Integration of Knowledge in UIN and IAIN.
4. Dr. dr. Taufiq Pasiak, expert on Neuro science, the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sam Ratulangi, Manado. He has written 9 (nine) books on Islam and Neuro Sciences.
5. Prof. Dr. Nurhayati Djamas, the Director of the Islamic Integration and Fundamental Sciences, the former Deputy Rector of Al Azhar University of Indonesia (UAI).

  


06 November, 2017: Seminar on ‘Halal Economy, Hospitality and Maqoshid’ organized by IAIN Salatiga

The seminar on ‘Halal Economy, Hospitality and Maqoshid’ was co-organized by the Sharia Economics and Muslim Intellectual of IAIN (SEIMAN), Islamic Economics Study Group (KSEI) and the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, State Islamic Institute of Religion (IAIN Salatiga) was held on November 6, 2017, at IAIN Campus Salatiga, Central Java. The seminar was attended by delegates from different faculties and universities in Salatiga, Semarang, Magelang, Surakarta and Yogyakarta. Bapak Habib Chirzin was invited to deliver a keynote speech on “”The Halal Life Style and Hospitality, and Al Maqashid al Shariah, the Need for the New Textbook Writing and Curriculum Reform in the Universities” where he shared experiences of IIIT in Indonesia and South East Asia and new programs of IIIT in the region.

Prof. Dr. Norma Binti Saad, our resource person from the Kulliyah of Economic and Business Science (KENMS), IIUM presented a paper on “Halal Economy, Industry and Life Style for Sustainable Regional Development in South East Asia” where she shared the experience of IIUM and Malaysia. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Baiquni, the Director of the Post Graduate Studies of Hospitality and Tourism, Universitas Gajah Mada (UGM) Yogyakarta and Dr. Nashir Budiman, the Halal Study Center, Salman ITB Bandung; shared their ideas and experiences on the teaching and coordinating the Halal Hospitality, Halal Industry and Halal Life Style in the universities. The Questions and Answers were very dynamic and the participants were committed to follow up with the study groups on Halal Life Style as the Civilizational Renewal.
