The objectives of the meeting were to strengthen networks
among the representatives and to coordinate programs and activities for this
year and beyond. The meeting was attended by representatives from Japan, Korea,
China, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia. Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim
hosted a reception dinner and gave a special address on Contemporary Issue in
Muslim Education based on his recent talk Washington DC.
Among resolutions of the meeting include:
a. Preparing teaching materials and textbooks for
primary, secondary and tertiary Muslim schools and universities
b. Training for teachers and community leaders in
managing institutions
c. Training for resource persons among scholars in higher
learning institutions in the area of Islamisation of Knowledge
d. Enhance networking and exchange of information and
materials among Islamic institutions in the region.
