The Conference was organized in-conjunction with the
Establishment of International Islamic University Minangkabau (IIIUM). IIIT
Resource Persons were invited as speakers and discussants throughout the
Conference. Air ticket for 50 participants from Kuala Lumpur were sponsored by
AirAsia. Around 150 academicians, policy makers and community leaders
participated in the Conference. The Sessions include:

Discussion
Ground Breaking Ceremony for the Establishment of
International Islamic University Minangkabau (IIUM). A symbolic ground breaking
ceremony was held on-site to mark the launching of the University. A
forty-hectare land was donated through waqf for the development of the
University. The family of Dato’ Kamaruddin Meranun, Executive Chairman of Air
Asia also donated two hectares of land to the University.
