25 November, 2015: International Conference on Development of Nursing Curriculum to Improve the Quality of Nursing Education: Islamic Values and International Perspectives

The Conference was jointly organized by Universitas Muhammadiyah Gorontalo, North Sulawesi, Indonesia. IIIT resource person, Prof. Dr. Zahrah Saad, the Dean of the Faculty of Nursing of MAHSA University, Kuala Lumpur was invited as a main resource person. The conference was officiated by the Rector of Prof. Dr. Nelson Pomalingo and Deputy Governor of Gorontalo, Dr. Abdurrahim. The program was attended by the Deans and lecturers from the different faculty of health sciences and nursing of Muhammadiyah Universities in Indonesia, 14 STIKES Aisyiyah, 40 Faculty of Health Sciences, Nursing and Midwifery of Muhammadiyah Universities.

Prof. Zahrah Saad has attracted the great attention of the participants in presenting her paper on "Development of Nursing Curriculum to Improve the Quality of Nursing Education based on Islamic Values". She has fulfilled the need and expectation of the faculty members and participants. The session was continued with the workshop attended by the participants from 14 STIKES Aisyiyah and 40 Faculties of Health Sciences and Nursing  on the follow up program on Curriculum Reform and Textbook writing.

10 – 13 November, 2015: Rihlah Ilmiah, Muallimin dan Muallimat Muhamadiyah Yogyakarta

30 future teachers from Muallimin and Muallimat Muhamadiyah Yogyakarta had a 3-day visit to Kuala Lumpur. IIIT organized a dinner and discussion and also organized a visit to College Dar al Hikmah, Kajang.

 

14 October, 2015: Dinner and Special Lecture in memory of Dr. Jamal Barzanji, Grand Cokro Hotel, Yogyakarta.

A Special Dinner and Lecture in Memory of Dr. Jamal Barzanji was held at Grand Cokro hotel, Yogyakarta, 14 October 2015. The event was attended by alumi of IIUM, the organizer of ICONIPSY 2015 (International Conference of Islamic Psychology 2015) the Deans of Faculty of Psychology and Directors of Post Graduate studies of UGM, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, UII, UAD (Ahmad Dahlan Univ), UMY Yogyakarta, Directors of Muallimin Muhammadiyah and some dignitaries. 

Bro Shahran Kasim made an opening remark and Prof. Malik Badri shared with us the very inspiring reflection on the leadership and thoughts of the late DR. Jamal Barzanji. We also invited also brother DR. Masyhudi Muqorrobin, the Director of International program of Islamic Economics of UMY Yogyakarta to share with us his personal reflection and memories as the former student of IIUM. He mentioned that in the past the Islamization of Knowledge became a project. And now the Islamization of Knowledge has become a movement and a common cause.

10 October, 2015: International Conference on Islamic Psychology (ICONIPSY) Yogyakarta.

The International Conference on Islamic Psychology (ICONIPSY) 2015, October 10 to 15, 2015 at Gajah Mada University, Yogyakarta with the main theme “The Contribution of Islamic Psychology to The World Civilization”. Resource persons include Prof. Dr. Malik Badri and Prof. Dr. Rahmatullah Khan, the newly elected President of IAMP (International Association of Muslim Psychologists) from UPSI (Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris), Perak, Malaysia. The conference was attended by 400 participants from the different universities from Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Jakarta, Bandung, Bogor, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Surakarta, Purwokerto, Surabaya, Sidoarjo, Gresik, etc

Prof. Dr. Malik Badri delivered a Public Lecture on “Introduction to Islamic Psychology and Concept of Soul in Islamic Perspective”, at Universitas Ahmad Dahlan , Muhammadiyah, Yogyakarta on 12^th October where he stated that "Textbook Writing on the Islamic Psychology is a kind of a new Jihad”. The public lecture was officiated by the Rector of UAD, Prof. DR. Kasiyarno, and attended by the deputy Rector Prof. DR. Sarbiran, the Dean and the Deputy Deans of the faculty of Psychology of UAD, lecturers from the different universities, post graduate students of UAD, UIN Sunan Kalijaga, UGM, UMY Yogyakarta and others. This is the biggest event facilitated by Prof. Malik Badri, attended by more than 500 participants.

Prof Dr. Malik Badri also conducted a workshop on “Islamic Psychotherapy” on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Yogyakarta, 14 October 2015. The workshop was attended by about 200 participants of the lecturers from UII Yogyakarta, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogya, UAD Ahmad Dahlan Yogyakarta, UIN Syarief Hidayatullah Jakarta; UIN Sultan Kasim Pekan Baru; UNISBA Bandung; Universitas Ibnu Khaldun Bogor etc.

 

7 October, 2015: Visit from IIIT Bangladesh

IIIT organized a reception dinner for a delegation from IIIT Bangladesh. Both institutions discussed on issues of common interest and agreed to collaborate in all relevant fields.

6 October, 2015: Courtesy Visit with Prof. Dr. Azizan Baharuddin, Director General IKIM

IIIT made a courtesy call to Prof. Dr. Azizan Baharuddin, Director General of IKIM to on future collaboration between both Institutes. IIIT delegates include Bro. Habib Chirzin, Bro Shahran Kasim and Bro Alfin Sless. Dr. Zaidi Ismail, Deputy General of IKIM was also in attendance in the meeting. Both institutions have agreed to work closely especially in the context of interfaith dialogue, environment and green ecosystem lifestyle.

27 – 30 September, 2015: Visit by Prof. Dr. MAK Lodhi

Prof. Dr. MAK Lodhi from Texas Tech University gave a lecture on ‘Islamization of Attitudes and Practices in Science and Technology’ at IIIT Office. The lecture was attended by more than 40 IIIT friends from Kuala Lumpur areas. Prof. MAK Lodhi also had series of meetings with IIUM scholars including Prof. Dr. Torla Hassan, Deputy Rector (Academic) and Prof. Dr. Faris, Prof. of Engineering.

 

25 – 27 September, 2015: Workshop for Islamic School Teachers in Cambodia.

The workshop was attended by 70 school teachers and administrators in Cambodia. Resource persons from IIIT were Dato’ Wira Dr. Jamil Osman and Hj. Shaaya Othman.

19 – 20 September, 2015: Conference on Islamic Psychology, Universitas Muhamadiyah Sidiorjo

The National seminar and workshop on Islamic Psychology held at UMSIDA (Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo) East Java, September 19 and 20, 2015 with resource persons Prof. Dr. Malik Badri and Prof. Dr. Mastura Badzis from IIUM and Dr. Taufik Kasturi, the Dean of the Faculty of Psychology, UMS. After the main seminar, in the afternoon and evening sessions we have a coordination and strengthening the national network of the Asosisasi Psikologi Universitas Muhammadiyah, which was attended by 4 (four) Deans of the Faculty of Psychology from UMS Surakarta, UMM Malang, UMG Gresik and UMSIDA Sidoarjo; and representatives from 11 Faculty of Psychology from different Muhammadiyah Universities. The Secretary General of API (Assosiasi Psikologi Islam) from UII Yogyakarta, DR. Sus Budiarto also attended the meeting. During the coordination, networking and follow up session, at the UMSIDA’s Rector meeting room, we got an important input from Prof. Malik Badri on the Islamic Psychology and the need for Textbook Writing. And also a voluntary input from Brother Prof. DR. Fuad Amsyari, environmental health specialist from Erlangga University, Surabaya. 

 

7 – 13 September, 2015: Visit by Prof. Dr. Hamidullah Marazi

Prof. Dr. Abdullah Marazi from University of Kashmir visited Malaysia and Indonesia from 7 to 13 September, 2015. Prof. Marazi delivered two lectures in Kuala Lumpur and several lectures in Yogyakarta. Prof. Marazi was the main resource person in a workshop on the Textbook Writing organized by Universitas Islam Indonesia, Yogyakarta on September 10, 2015. The workshop was coordinated by the Deputy Rector of Academic Affairs of UII DR. Ilya Fajar Maharika and the Director of Academics Development, DR. Fathul Wahid. The University also organized a Round table Discussion on “Lesson Learned from Integrating Islamic Values and Human Knowledge: Strategies for Textbook Writing”, held at the post graduate studies of Industrial Technology Faculty. The Round table discussion was attended by the group of writers of 8 (eight) disciplines : 1- Medical Sciences, 2-Economics, 3- Physics, 4- Education, 5- Pharmacy, 6- Law, 7- Islamic Studies and 8- Psychology.
