21 November, 2017: National Symposium on “Islamic Epistemology in the Modern Knowledge Perspective” organized by Universitas Al Azhar Indonesia (UAI), Jakarta
The National Symposium on “Islamic Epistemology in the Modern Knowledge Perspective” was held at the Auditorium of Universitas Al Azhar Indonesia (UAI), Jakarta, November 21, 2017. The symposium was officiated by the new Rector of UAI, Prof. Dr. Asep Saefuddin and attended by the chairman of the Al Azhar Foundation, Secretary and 200 participants from different universities from Jakarta, Bandung, Bogor, Yogyakarta and Malang East Java. The Rector expressed his great hope to continue the cooperation with IIIT in the integration of knowledge as a new and prestigious university. He also mentioned a plan to develop UAI as the center of the Islamic Epistemology and Integration of Knowledge which will be chaired by Prof. Dr. Nurhayati Djamas.
Bapak M. Habib Chirzin was invited to deliver the opening speech, where he shared the idea of integration of knowledge, based on the Islamic Epistemology, Islamic World view and the important of maqashid al shariah in the process of integration. Bapak Habib also briefed the audience on the IIIT new policy and programs and the need for strengthening the national, regional and international network.
The invited speakers in the symposium include:
1. Prof. Dr. Mat Rofa Ismail, a senior expert on mathematics and philosophy of science; as the Keynote Speaker.
2. Prof. Dato Dr. Ariff Osman, the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of IIUM.
3. Prof. Dr. Imam Suprayogo, former Rector UIN Malang, the initiator of Integration of Knowledge in UIN and IAIN.
4. Dr. dr. Taufiq Pasiak, expert on Neuro science, the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sam Ratulangi, Manado. He has written 9 (nine) books on Islam and Neuro Sciences.
5. Prof. Dr. Nurhayati Djamas, the Director of the Islamic Integration and Fundamental Sciences, the former Deputy Rector of Al Azhar University of Indonesia (UAI).

06 November, 2017: Seminar on ‘Halal Economy, Hospitality and Maqoshid’ organized by IAIN Salatiga
The seminar on ‘Halal Economy, Hospitality and Maqoshid’ was co-organized by the Sharia Economics and Muslim Intellectual of IAIN (SEIMAN), Islamic Economics Study Group (KSEI) and the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, State Islamic Institute of Religion (IAIN Salatiga) was held on November 6, 2017, at IAIN Campus Salatiga, Central Java. The seminar was attended by delegates from different faculties and universities in Salatiga, Semarang, Magelang, Surakarta and Yogyakarta. Bapak Habib Chirzin was invited to deliver a keynote speech on “”The Halal Life Style and Hospitality, and Al Maqashid al Shariah, the Need for the New Textbook Writing and Curriculum Reform in the Universities” where he shared experiences of IIIT in Indonesia and South East Asia and new programs of IIIT in the region.
Prof. Dr. Norma Binti Saad, our resource person from the Kulliyah of Economic and Business Science (KENMS), IIUM presented a paper on “Halal Economy, Industry and Life Style for Sustainable Regional Development in South East Asia” where she shared the experience of IIUM and Malaysia. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Baiquni, the Director of the Post Graduate Studies of Hospitality and Tourism, Universitas Gajah Mada (UGM) Yogyakarta and Dr. Nashir Budiman, the Halal Study Center, Salman ITB Bandung; shared their ideas and experiences on the teaching and coordinating the Halal Hospitality, Halal Industry and Halal Life Style in the universities. The Questions and Answers were very dynamic and the participants were committed to follow up with the study groups on Halal Life Style as the Civilizational Renewal.

08 October, 2017: National Symposium on the Integration and Internationalization of Knowledge organized by IAIN Surakarta
The National Symposium on the Integration and Internationalization of Knowledge was held at the Lor Inn Hotel, Surakarta, October 8, 2017. The symposium has been officiated by the Deputy Rector of IAIN Surakarta Dr. Syamsul Bahri and attended by the delegates from UIN, IAIN and other public state universities and private universities from Central and East Java. MOU signing between IIIT and UIN, IAIN and there other institutions was signed by Prof. Dato Wira Jamil Osman on behalf of IIIT.
Prof. Dato Wira Dr. Jamil Osman also presented a talk on "Integration and Internationalization, Towards World Class University and Building a University Forum" and Prof. Dr. Torla Hassan, the former Deputy Rector of Academic Affairs, IIUM, presented an enlightening paper on the 'The Integration of Knowledge and Internationalization; the Experiences from IIUM and Malaysia".
Prof. Dato Wira Dr. Jamil Osman and Prof. Dr. Torla also attended a lunch meeting with the Rector, Deputy Rector and Director of Faculty Education and the Director International Relation of Universitas Negeri Sebelas Maret (UNS) and a dinner meeting with the Rector, Deputy Rector and Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Studies, Coordinator of the textbook writing and the Director International Relation of Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS).

06 – 07 November, 2017: International Conference on ‘Islamic Studies, Education and Sciences: Prospect and Challenges - East and West’ organized by IAIN Salatiga
The ‘International Conference on the Islamic Studies, Education and Sciences: Prospect and Challenges , East and West’ was held at the Laras Ati Hotel, and the auditorium of IAIN Salatiga on 6 to 7 November, 2017. The conference was officiated by the Director General of the Islamic Education of the Ministry of Religious Affairs RI, Prof. Dr. Kamaruddin Amin and the Rector of IAIN Salatiga Prof. Dr. Rahmad Haryadi. The conference was attended by delegates from several UIN, IAIN, University Diponegoro and other public state universities and private universities from Central Java, East Java, West Java and Sumatera.
Prof. Dr. Alinoor bin Abdul Kadir, a mathematician and philosopher of sciences, of UKM, presented a paper on "The Philosophy of Sciences, Mathematics Education and Integration of Knowledge in Muslim and the Melayu Nusantara History" and another speaker Prof. Dr. Agus Purwanto of ITS presented a paper on the Integration of the @Natural Sciences with the reference to Trensains Experiences". They have got great feedbacks and responses from the participants. Other invited speakers include:

09 – 11 August, 2017: International Conference on ‘The Islamic University: Distinctions and Contributions, especially in the process of Integration/Islamization of Knowledge’ organized by UIN Antasari at Aria Barito Hotel, Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan
The International Conference on The Integration of
Knowledge in the Universities with the theme: The Islamic University:
Distinctions and Contributions in the process of Integration/Islamization of
Knowledge held on Wednesday-Friday, August 09-11, 2017, at Aria Barito Hotel, Banjarmasin,
South Kalimantan.
The significant of this conference that it was a common
commitment and common endeavour to develop the Model of Integration of
Knowledge in the Islamic Universities, the state and private universities especially
in the momentum of the conversion and development of state Islamic Institute of
Islamic Studies from IAIN to UIN (State Islamic Universities), in Indonesia,
from Aceh to Ambon, Moluccas.
The conference was attended by 200 participants,
including 35 delegates from the different UIN, IAIN and STAIN, UGM Yogyakarta, Udayana
Univ Bali; including the Rector of Muhammadiyah Univertsity of Banjarmasin, Prof. Dr. Khairuddin; Deputy Rector for
Academic Affairs UIN Sultan Thoha Saifuddin , Jambi, Dr. Suadi, etc
IIIT was invited to share
the best practices and experiences in Integration of Knowledge in the
special session on Integration of Islam
and Science in Different Disciplines. Prof Dr. Mat Rofa Ismail (Universiti
Putra Malaysia) presented a paper on Methodology of Epistemological
Integration: Prolegomena of Islamic Methodology" and Prof. Dr. Hazizan
Mohd Noon (International Islamic University of Malaysia) presented a paper
on “Application of Islamic Concept of Knowledge
In Social Sciences: The Case of International IslamicUniversity Malaysia".
The organizer also invited two former Rectors of UIN
Syarief Hidayatullah Jakarta, and UIN Sunan Kalijaga, Yogyakarta; who initiated
two different concept of Integration of Knowledge, in a panel Session ön
Islamic University and the Paradigm of Integration of Science, Prof. Dr.
Azyumardi Azra, CBE (UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta) presented a paper on “From
IAIN to UIN; The Strengthening of Distinctive Indonesian Islamic Studies "
and Prof. Dr. M. Amin Abdullah, M.A (UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta) on “Religion,
Science and Culture Integration and Interconnection Paradigm of
Science"" and also Prof. Dr. Shahid Rahman (Universite Charles-de-Gaulle Lille) presented
a paper on "The Notion of Unified Science in the Role of the Humanities
within the University". Prof. Dr.
Phil. Noorhaidi Hasan, M. Phil., MA (UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta) presented a
paper on "Integration between Islam and Science: Models, Challenges, and Opportunities".
