Habib Chirzin led a delegation from Masjid Quwwatul Islam Jogjakarta to a short visit in Kuala Lumpur. IIIT hosted a dinner a discussion with the group and IIIT friends.

   

  

  

10 September, 2014: Visit of Prof. Dr. Mustafa Ceric

13 – 20 August, 2014: Visit of Prof. Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Nakib, Prof. Dr. Salah el Sadek and Dr. Manzoor Alam.

They visited us to join Dr. Abdul Hamid Abu Sulayman in the Curriculum and Course Outlines Review workshop at IIUM from 13 to 20 August. They also paid courtesy visit to Bro. Anwar Ibrahim.

   

  

   

  

  

    

  

   

  

       

      

24 - 26 August, 2014: International Conference on Islamisation of Knowledge and Curriculum Reform

The Conference was organized in-conjunction with the Establishment of International Islamic University Minangkabau (IIIUM). IIIT Resource Persons were invited as speakers and discussants throughout the Conference. Air ticket for 50 participants from Kuala Lumpur were sponsored by AirAsia. Around 150 academicians, policy makers and community leaders participated in the Conference. The Sessions include:

Session IV : Roundatable Discussion

Ground Breaking Ceremony for the Establishment of International Islamic University Minangkabau (IIUM). A symbolic ground breaking ceremony was held on-site to mark the launching of the University. A forty-hectare land was donated through waqf for the development of the University. The family of Dato’ Kamaruddin Meranun, Executive Chairman of Air Asia also donated two hectares of land to the University.

Various side programs were organized include:

-         Lunch hosted by Mayor of Padang

-         Informal Discussion and Dinner on Islamic Microcredit hosted by Governor of Padang

-         Lunch hosted by Dinniyah Puteri Padang Panjang

-         Welcoming Dinner and Opening Ceremony hosted by Governor of Padang

11-21 August, 2014: Curriculum Reform and Course Outlines Review, IIUM

Intensive workshop on Curriculum Reform and Course Outlines Review was held from 11 to 21 August, 2014. Sixteen subjects/courses were selected for review where the instructors presented both old and new course outlines for discussion. Emeritus Prof. Dr. Abdul Hamid Abu Sulayman participated as the main resource person in all sessions. The date and list of courses are as follows:
